Directions

  1. Layer ingredients in order in 1-quart mason jar or similar container.

  2. To cook, bring 9 cups water to a boil. Stir in contents of mason jar. Return to boil, then reduce heat and simmer until lentils are tender, adding water as needed to keep ingredients covered by cooking liquid.

  3. Serve with your favorite chili garnishes.
