Ingredients
Sprouted brown rice, brown rice, red rice, black rice.
The three varieties of brown rice include both short and long grain brown rice. These varieties make for an intriguing combination of textures and flavors.
This blend also uses a form of sprouted rice brown rice commonly called "GABA" rice because the sprouting process increases the amount increases gamma-aminobutyric acid (or Gaba) within the grain. Gaba is found naturally in the brain, and plays a role in the regulation of muscle tone and in reducing stress and insomnia.
The visual appeal and savory flavor of Speckled Brown Rice Blend is heightened by the inclusion of natural red rice. Natural red rice has a nutty flavor and popcorn-like aroma when cooked. We also chose to use this rice because it is prepared with its red hull intact preserving its natural, deep red color.
We also blend in black Japonica rice, a short-grain black rice developed with seeds original from Japan. Black Japonica rice is prized for its rich, almost mushroom-like flavor.
Together, these varieties combine to make a blend with amazing flavor, aroma and texture.

Pan-frying is a classic way to prepare delicate freshwater fish fillets like trout. In this recipe, we replaced the usual bread crumbs or crushed corn flakes with our Speckled Brown Rice Blend, adding a nutty, almost sweet flavor to the tender fish.
