    Ingredients

Tomatillo powder, salt, spices, ground chiles, onion, garlic, lime peel, powdered honey (sugar, honey), silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent).

Salsa verde is tremendously popular in many types of regional Mexican cuisine. Also known as salsa de tomatillo, it gains a light green color and pleasantly tart flavor from this main ingredient.

We hand-blend dried and ground tomatillos and green chiles with onion, garlic and lime peel to recreate the classic flavor of salsa verde.

To make traditional salsa verde, tomatillos are cooked and ground into salsa in a molcajete, a traditional Mexican mortar and pestle. Salsa verde may be served warm, as in the saucy, slow-cooked stew chile verde, or cold, as a condiment or dip for chips.

Salsa verde can range in spiciness from mild to extremely hot. Our Salsa Verde Seasoning Blend has a mild to medium heat from the addition of ground serrano and jalapeno chiles.
