    Ingredients

    Macadamia nuts. Contains tree nuts.

Our Premium Raw Macadamia Nuts come from a tree of the Macadamia genus, and the nuts from only two varieties can be eaten raw (Macadamia integrifolia and Macadamia tetraphylla). Though many people are familiar with macadamia nuts from farms in Hawaii, the trees are actually indigenous to Australia.

Shelling the nuts can be difficult; it takes 300 pounds per square inch to extract the nut from its tight shell, making it the hardest nut in the world to crack open. The nut can be up to 80% oil and is low in protein compared to other nuts. The oil accounts for the butteriness of the nut and it is high in calories. Macadamia nuts are high in monounsaturated fats.

The nuts are very rich with a buttery flavor and slight sweetness. The sweetness comes through more when the nuts are roasted.

In terms of nutrition, macadamia nuts are high in fat and low in protein. They have the highest amount of monounsaturated fats of all known seeds and contain calcium, phosphorus, sodium, iron, potassium, thiamine, niacin and riboflavin.

Our Premium Raw Macadamia Nuts are considered premium due to the fact that they consist of almost all whole nuts with very minimal fragmentation. They have a luxurious butter-like flavor with a slight sweetness, and are ideal for numerous applications, including eating as-is, roasted and seasoned, in baked goods, on salads, and incorporated into a multitude of recipes.
