    Ingredients

    Organic chia seeds.

Organic Toasted White Chia Seeds, one of the highest plant sources of omega-3 fatty acids, are naturally gluten-free, high in calcium and loaded with fiber. The dense nutritional value of the diminutive seeds has been long known, dating back to Aztec warriors who used the chia seed as part of their diet.

Chia seeds have the unique ability to soak up to 12 times their weight in liquid when submerged, and the seeds become gel-like. The ability to become gelatinous when soaked in liquid aids digestion to slow down absorption of nutrients while also creating new way to create texture in recipes.

The chia plant is derived from the plant Salvia hispanica, a species that thrives in southern Mexico and South America. The flowering chia plant is in the same family as mint. It was a highly coveted crop used by ancient cultures for sustenance and currency.

Our Organic Toasted White Chia Seeds have a unique white color, unlike their mottled black and brown counterparts, but contain the same level of nutrition. Toasted for added flavor and texture, these healthy organic seeds can be used to add nutty crunch or to make a wholesome gelatinous pudding depending on how they are prepared.
