Adobo sauce gets its name from the Spanish word “adobar,” usually translated as “marinade.” Perhaps the most widely known use for adobo sauce is packed alongside chipotle chiles in canned chipotles in adobo. This slightly sweet, medium hot sauce is so full of flavor it has its own cult following and is often used in recipes on its own, without the chipotle chiles.
Our Chile Lime Adobo Seasoning is a clever recreation of the sweet, smoky and spicy flavors of this canned adobo sauce as a dry seasoning. We’ve added an extra layer of flavor with the subtle citrus flavor of lime juice powder and the floral aromas of ground makrut (kaffir) lime leaves. As a dry seasoning, it’s ready for use as a dry rub or to be sprinkled on finished foods as they are ready to serve.
