    Combine 1 cup rice and 1-1/2 cups water in pot with lid. Bring to boil over high heat. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer until grains are tender, about 30 to 40 minutes.

This region is designated a protected geographic appellation to ensure lesser quality food ingredients from other regions cannot be sold under the renowned Camargue name.

    The region is also known for its legally protected nature reserves where eagles, hawks and other birds fly free.
