    Wild rice.

Wild Rice is grown in the rich lands of Minnesota. A mainstay in the diet of many Native American tribes in the upper Midwest, wild rice provided nutrition during harsh winters when hunting and fishing were difficult.

Wild rice is not technically rice, but the seed of an aquatic grass. It resembles a very long grained, dark brown to black rice and can be used in the same applications with an earthier, wilder taste and texture.

Sometimes called "the caviar of grains" over the years for its deep obsidian color and desirability, it offers a simple, natural taste and texture.
